USA Softball Announces Second California Tour Stop

USA Softball has announced a second "Stand Beside Her" tour stop in California.
The stop will take place May 17 at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, Calif. and feature an exhibition doubleheader against undisclosed opponents.
"There's nothing like playing in front of your hometown crowd," Sacramento-area native and Team USA member Ali Aguilar said in a release. "Sacramento is the place I grew as a young softball player and hopefully by being there I can inspire a young girl or boy that they can achieve their dreams too. I'm so excited and thankful to be able to come home."
Ally Carda, another Sacramento-area native and Team USA member, added in the release: "I love that Team USA is going to play in Sacramento. I have been in those girls' shoes who will be there watching, so I am most excited that they will be able to see an Olympic softball team play live, just like I did when I was a young softball player."
Aside from its doubleheader, Team USA will also participate in team practices that are open to the public, hold two instructional clinics and host a VIP dinner during the tour stop.
Other "Stand Beside Her" tour stops that have been announced by USA Softball include Feb. 7-9 in Florida, Feb. 18 in Arizona, Feb. 20-23 in California, March 17 and 18 in Oregon, March 31 and April 1 in Alabama, April 3 and 5 in Georgia, April 7 and May 30 in Tennessee, April 15 in Louisiana, April 18 and 25 in Texas, May 1 and 3 in Missouri, June 3 in Missouri, June 9 and 10 in Michigan, June 21 in New Jersey and June 25 in Virginia.
The main message of the "Stand Beside Her" tour is unity, as the U.S. women's national softball team begins its quest for a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics.
In July, softball will make its first appearance at the Summer Games since 2008. The gold-medal game is scheduled for July 28.
