Top Nine Performances From Friday

Frankie Hammoude
The freshman first baseman powered undefeated Oregon State to a pair of wins at the Stacy Winsberg Tournament in Long Beach, CA.
Hammoude drove in all but one of the nine runs for the Beavers on the day. She went 4-for-4 with two homers and five RBIs in a 5-0 win vs Fresno State, then capped her day off by going 2-for-3 with three RBIs in a 3-2 triumph over host LBSU.
Erin Edmoundson
The sophomore Red Raider won a tremendous pitcher's duel, getting the best of All-American Nicole Newman as she fired her first career no-hitter to lead Texas Tech to a 1-0 win over Drake at the Plainsman Invitational in Auburn, AL. She walked four and struck out ten, three of them coming at the expense of Newman, the Bulldogs' two-way star.
Zoe Mihalicz
The first multi-homer game for the sophomore catcher came in grand style. Mihalicz hit grand slams in both the third and fourth innings as Eastern Kentucky routed Presbyterian 18-1 in five innings at the Battle at the Beach in Conway, SC. Her eight RBIs doubled her previous single-game career-high and tied the Colonels single-game record. Mihalicz is just the 14th player in NCAA history to accomplish this feat.
South Florida
The Bulls got a hard-fought split against a pair of top-10 opponents, falling 2-0 to No. 10 Alabama before stunning host No. 9 Arizona 4-1. Sophomore Georgina Corrick allowed four hits and one run in a complete game win over the Wildcats. The win marked the first time USF has beaten Arizona in 13 meetings all-time.
Tara Trainer
The Hoosiers' senior ace carried a perfect game to the seventh vs Duke as No. 16 Indiana moved to 7-0 at the ACC/B1G Challenge in Durham, NC.
She held the Blue Devils off the bases until a leadoff single in the seventh, settling for a one-hit shutout with six strikeouts in a 3-0 win. She then came back hours later to get out of a jam for a save in a 6-5 nail-biter over Syracuse, pitching a scoreless seventh inning.
Penn State's Underclassmen
Coming off a nine-win season, the youngsters led the way as the Nittany Lions had a total team effort to earn a pair of wins at the ACC/B1G Challenge in Durham, NC. PSU beat Syracuse 3-2 and host Duke 6-0. Sophomore outfielder Dani Fey and freshman shortstop Melina Livingston each had three hits on the day, while freshmen pitchers Bailey Parshall and Kylee Lingenfelter combined to pitch all 14 innings, allowing just two runs and striking out 19.
Amanda Lorenz
The 2018 SEC Player of the Year homered twice and was retired just once as No. 4 Florida moved to 8-0 with two victories at the Littlewood Classic in Tempe, AZ.
The senior went 2-for-2 with a walk in a 2-1 win over Illinois State, then took it up a notch during a 7-2 win against host No. 24 Arizona State, launching a pair of bombs, driving in three, and walking two more times.
Illinois
The wet Georgia weather couldn't cool off the hot bats for No. 21 Illinois, as the Illini pounded out 27 runs in just 11 innings in wins over Boston College and Georgia Tech at the ACC/B1G Challenge in Atlanta, GA. Sophomore outfielder Rhein Trochim led the way, going 5 for 6 with four RBIs, three runs scored, two stolen bases, and a walk.
Julia DiMartino
The Flames' workhorse picked up a win and a save in nearly 10 innings to help Liberty win a pair of low-scoring games at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, TX.
The senior allowed just three hits and struck out seven in a complete game 2-1 win over Rutgers, but saved her best for last as she went 2.2 hitless innings to put the finishing touches on a 4-2 win over host Texas A&M.
