Softball legend Susie Parra has joined the coaching staff of the NPF's California Commotion for the team's inaugural season in 2020.

Parra, who will work in conjunction with Commotion head coach Kirk Walker, has spent many years in coaching following a legendary playing career at both the collegiate and professional levels.

"Susie has a wealth of experiences to draw from," Commotion general manager Deb Hartwig said in a press release. "She has played and won at the college level, she has played pro in Japan and Italy and she has coached at the college level. We are looking forward to her bringing her experiences and will to win to the Commotion."

During her college playing career in the early 1990s, Parra was a three-time national champion at the University of Arizona as well as a three-time All-American and Pac-10 Player of the Year. She also spent time as a member of the U.S. women's national softball team.

"I am very honored to be part of the California Commotion and part of this coaching staff," Parra said in the release. "I am excited to be working with Kirk Walker and Deb Hartwig in this venture. Bringing professional softball to California with the Commotion name brings back many memories. The opportunity that owner Damon Zumwalt is providing these players is amazing."

The Commotion will play their inaugural NPF season this coming summer.
