UCLA's Rachel Garcia is the LA Sports Awards Sportswoman of the Year, the Los Angeles Sports Council has announced.

Garcia, who is the two-time defending USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year, won the Honda Cup as the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year for her performance with UCLA in 2019, along with several other awards. She helped lead the Bruins to a national title last June both in the circle and with her bat.

Garcia, the Most Outstanding Player at the 2019 Women's College World Series, will redshirt this NCAA season to train with Team USA ahead of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

This year's LA Sports Awards will take place Feb. 20 in Beverly Hills, Calif. at The Beverly Hilton.
