NPF Announces Schedule Changes Due To Coronavirus Concerns

On Monday, National Pro Fastpitch officials announced amendments to plans for the 2020 season.
Due to concerns surrounding the recent coronavirus outbreak, the 2020 College Draft, which was originally scheduled for March 30 in Rosemont, Ill., has been postponed indefinitely. Additionally, the start of the 2020 season, which was set for April 10 in Fresno, Calif., will also be delayed indefinitely.
That includes the cancellation of a series between the Canadian Wild and Cleveland Comets set for April 10-12, as well as a series between the Wild and California Commotion set for April 17-19.
According to a league press release, NPF officials plan to announce further 2020 scheduling decisions for the league's five teams, which include three Olympic squads, on May 1.
The league is set to debut a new scheduling format in 2020, which will feature a series-event model that is designed to feature multiple teams at once.
