LOS ANGELES- Hatti Moore sent a statement deep into the Los Angeles night on Friday.

The sophomore blasted a two-run homerun and a grand slam to send the Missouri Tigers past Cal State Fullerton 7-4 in the opening game of the Los Angeles Regional.

Moore’s two-run blast off of Fullerton’s freshman Dani Martinez sent a clear message that they weren’t just here to play, they were here to win.

But this didn’t fluster the Fullerton offense.

Zoe Richard doubled in the top of the second and Daisy Munoz followed with a home run to tie it up at 2-2 in the second. An RBI-double from Ari Williams put the Titans in from 3-2 in the third.

After three consecutive scoreless innings for Mizzou, Fullerton’s Martinez seemed to take control of the circle, serving up a couple strike outs to the Tigers offense.

But the momentum quickly shifted.

After a walk loaded the bases in the fifth, the Tigers had momentum swinging in their direction with Moore at the plate.  Without fail, Moore launched a moon-shot over the center field fence giving Mizzou the four-run lead.

"Big time win to start our postseason," head coach Larissa Anderson said. "Hatti was tremendous for us tonight, and I am so happy that she got to show the nation her improvement. We will celebrate this one, but not for long. Have to get refocused for tomorrow."

Fighting for runs, the Titans' Kelsie Whitmore lined one to right field bringing in a run in the sixth, but the Titans offense was shut down in the seventh, ending the game with the 7-4 victory over Cal State Fullerton.

Garcia, Azevedo Combine For No-Hitter

Rachel Garcia struck out 13 in six innings and then Holly Azevedo slammed the door in the seventh as the UCLA Bruins rolled to a 6-0 win over Weber State.

The Bruins had 12 hits in the contest with Kinsley Washington and Briana Perez for half as both were 3-for-3 in the victory.

Five different players recorded an RBI for UCLA and seven collected hits.
