ACC Announces First-Ever Preseason Team
The inaugural preseason All-ACC Softball Team was announced on Jan 29. Reigning national champion and No. 1-ranked Florida State leads with five selections as voted on by the 12 member coaches.
Louisville, North Carolina and Syracuse have two representatives each on the preseason team, with Notre Dame, Pitt and Virginia Tech earning one selection each.
Eight players are listed in SA's Top 100. Nine members from the 2018 First Team All-ACC are on the preseason squad and five were named Second Team All-ACC last year.
The Preseason All-ACC Softball Team is voted on by the league's head coaches and consists of a minimum of 14 players. Each ballot consisted of five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, a catcher and either a designated player or utility player.
