Jordyn Rudd of Northwestern is Softball America's NCAA Defensive Player of the Year for the 2022 college softball season.

Rudd, who started at catcher in all 58 games her team played this season, won the first-ever Rawlings Gold Glove Award at her position in 2022. She also became the first catcher in Big Ten history to be named a first-team All-Big Ten selection in her first three campaigns.

Rudd was a key part of Northwestern's run to the 2022 Women's College World Series. She led the Big Ten with 16 runners caught stealing and did not commit a single error this season in 459 chances, which gave her career-best numbers in both categories.

She still has one season of NCAA eligibility remaining.
