2019 Pitcher of the Year: Giselle Juarez

OKLAHOMA CITY-- Giselle "G" Juarez arrived in Oklahoma in the fall of 2018 after competing in the Women's College World Series with Arizona State last season.
What she did in 2019 was put together a first-team All-American season and has led the Sooners in the circle and back to the WCWS. Because of that, Juarez has been awarded the 2019 Pitcher of the Year presented by Wilson.
The Big 12 Pitcher of the Year enters the WCWS with a 26-1 record and 1.10 earned run average. She has pitched two perfect games and became the second pitcher in program history to do so. She also became the second pitcher from OU to pitch a postseason no-hitter which happened against Wisconsin in the Norman Regional.
In 153.1 innings pitched, Juarez has struck out 229 batters, allowed 68 hits and 24 earned runs. She's walked 31 and limited opposing batters to a batting average against of .132.
