2019 Freshman Player of the Year

Northwestern's Danielle Williams was named Softball America's 2019 Freshman Player of the Year presented by Wilson on Friday.

Williams, a two-way player for the WIldcats, was also named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

She finished the season with 31 wins, 26 complete games, 13 shutouts and an earned run average of 1.55. In 230 innings pitched,  she struck of 317, walked 46 and limited opponents to a .163 batting average.

Offensively, she batted .258 with three doubles, three homeruns and 21 runs batted in.
