2019 All-NPF Team, Major Awards Announced

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The 18 All-NPF honorees for the 2019 season, as well as the league's other winners of major awards, were announced on Wednesday night at the annual National Pro Fastpitch Awards Banquet.

Among the major awards that were granted on Wednesday ahead of the 2019 NPF Championship Series included the Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Home Run honors, which were all won by Amanda Chidester of the Chicago Bandits.

Jolene Henderson of the USSSA Pride collected her second straight Pitcher of the Year Award, while Chicago's Abbey Cheek took home the Rookie of the Year Award and Sammy Marshall of the Cleveland Comets won the Stolen Base Award.

The Pride's Jessica Warren became the fourth-ever winner of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, and Victoria Hayward of the Canadian Wild was named the Jennie Finch Award winner.

USSSA's Kelly Kretschman became the first-ever winner of the Softball America Legacy Award, and after collecting the inaugural honor, surprised the room by announcing her plans to retire from the sport at the conclusion of this week's Championship Series.

The Bandits' coaching staff, which includes Lauren Lappin, Amber Flores and Lance McMahon, was named the league's Coaching Staff of the Year, while umpire Scott Mair was honored with the Umpire of the Year Award.

The best-of-five NPF Championship Series begins Thursday between the regular-season champion Bandits and reigning-champion Pride.
