    Megan Faraimo

    UCLA
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 24-2, 1.20 ERA, 200 SO, 140 IP
Notes: The right-handed hurler continues to put together the best season of her career after going 8-0 in April. All of her wins came against Pac-12 opponents, with a ranked win against Stanford. In her win against the Cardinal, Faraimo only allowed one hit in 3.2 innings of work with a pair of strikeouts. Her two wins in the series against Stanford allowed Faraimo to be named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week, marking her fourth time earning the award this season. She continued to shine against Arizona. Only two earned runs were surrendered in 13 innings pitched against the Wildcats with 11 strikeouts. She also downed Oregon State and Arizona State twice each in April.

    Kathyrn Sandercock

    Florida State
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 17-3, 1.10 ERA, 69 SO, 114.2 IP
Notes: Sandercock has played a big role in helping Florida State sit atop the ACC standings with a couple weeks left of conference play. She went 6-0 in April with a win against Clemson. In her complete-game win against the Tigers, Sandercock only surrendered five hits and one earned run, while also fanning five batters. The senior was named the Co-ACC Pitcher of the Week for her weekend performance against Clemson. Sandercock also toppled the regining ACC regular-season champions twice in Blacksburg, Va. Virginia Tech was only able to scratch across two runs in nine innings against the All-American. She also tallied a save against the Hokies.

    Jordy Bahl

    Oklahoma
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 13-1, 1.18 ERA, 117 SO, 89 IP
Notes: The reigning National Freshman of the Year went 4-0 with a trio of ranked wins in April—one over Texas, one over LSU and one over Baylor. While the win against the Longhorns was her highest ranked win of the season, her best win looked to be the one against LSU due to it being the biggest regular-season road game she's played in her career. Bahl went the distance in her shutout against LSU, allowing only three hits and fanning a season-high 13 batters. Her performance against Baylor was nearly identical with the only difference being that she pitched 5.2 innings and struck out 10 batters. Bahl was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on April 4 due to her efforts in the Texas series. She capped off the month with a save against Baylor.

    Maddie Penta

    Auburn
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 21-5, 1.03 ERA, 242 SO, 170 IP
Notes: Penta's month started with a loss to Florida, but she found her groove and ended April in the most thrilling fashion with back-to-back complete-game victories against in-state rival Alabama. In her two wins against the Crimson Tide, Penta only allowed a pair of earned runs with 15 strikeouts. This effort led her to be named the SEC Pitcher of the Week. Penta also tamed SEC foes LSU, Florida and Ole Miss. All three of those wins came in complete-game efforts, with the victory against the Gators being a double-digit strikeout (10) performance.

    Mac Morgan

    Texas
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 15-2, 1.74 ERA, 65 SO, 116.1 IP
Notes: Morgan's April ended in dominant fashion with five consecutive wins and a save against Oklahoma State. In the save against the Cowgirls, Morgan pitched 1.2 innings and allowed just one hit. Morgan also collected a win against Oklahoma State in an eight-inning, six-hit shutout en route to Texas' 1-0 victory. She tallied a trio of other Big 12 wins on the month with a pair against Kansas and one against Iowa State. In those three conference wins, Morgan pitched 13 shutout innings. She ended the month with 28 consecutive scoreless innings, which dates back to the only blemish on her April resume—a loss to Oklahoma on April 2.

    Montana Fouts

    Alabama
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 18-8, 1.54 ERA, 262 SO, 172.1 IP
Notes: The three-time All-American put together the best month of her season so far. To begin the month, Fouts pitched three shutouts against SEC opponents—South Carolina (2) and Missouri (1). Fouts recorded double-digit strikeouts in each of those performances and tossed a no-hitter in her second appearance against the Gamecocks. Fouts' fourth double-digit strikeout performance came in her loss against Auburn after beating the Tigers earlier that weekend. Her two other wins in the month came against Mississippi State.

    Nicole May

    Oklahoma
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 13-0, .45 ERA, 105 SO, 77.1 IP
Notes: There wasn't a heavy workload in April for May, but she took care of business when she was handed the ball in the circle. May went 4-0 in April with a pair of ranked wins—one over Texas and one over Baylor. Against the Longhorns, she pitched 5.1 innings, allowing only one earned run and collecting eight strikeouts. Baylor did not fare better against May than Texas did. The Bears failed to score a run and only had two hits in seven innings against May. May's two other wins in April came against Texas Tech and Miami (OH).

    Alex Storako

    Oklahoma
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 14-0, 1.73 ERA, 87 SO, 76.1 IP
Notes: Like her teammates Bahl and May, Storako pitched a small sample size in April with a 3-0 record and four appearances during the month. During those appearances, however, she was solid in the circle. The redshirt senior gave up two earned runs in 23.2 innings pitched with 14 strikeouts. Storako's lone ranked win of the month came against Baylor in Waco, Texas. The right-handed pitcher tossed 6.1 innings and only allowed four hits to the Bears. Storako lowered her earned run average from .80 to .73 in April.

    kayla beaver 2023 headshot.jpg

    Kayla Beaver

    Central Arkansas
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 17-6, 1.37 ERA, 154 SO, 143.1 IP
Notes: Central Arkansas really made a name for itself in April and appears to be a major postseason threat. That's largely because of the right arm of Beaver. On April 11, Beaver propelled UCA to its second win against Arkansas this season. She tossed a complete-game shutout against the Razorbacks, fanning eight batters and allowing only five hits. Beaver finished the month with a 6-1 record and one save. In all six of her wins, Beaver did not allow an earned run. Her lone double-digit strikeout (11) performance came against Florida Gulf Coast in the Bears' 3-2 victory. She lowered her earned run average from 1.68 to 1.37 in April.

    makenna reid 2023 headshot.jpg

    Makenna Reid

    Florida State
    Notes:

    2023 stats (as of 4/26/23): 10-0, .93 ERA, 67 SO, 52.2 IP
Notes: The freshman southpaw has been the perfect complement to Sandercock and an overall reliable arm in Florida State's bullpen. In April, Reid went 3-0 with a pair of saves. Her most notable win of the month was against Clemson, as she did not allow an earned run to score in three frames of work and only gave up one hit. Reid also three-hit Virginia Tech on the road and did not allow an earned run to score in 4.2 innings. The Portland, Ore. native also collected a save against the Hokies in game two of the series. She was named the ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week for her efforts in the circle against Virginia Tech.
