2019 D-I Top 25

The 2019 season has come to an end and with that comes SA's final Top 25 rankings.

UCLA's national title over Oklahoma powered the Bruins to the No. 1 ranking for the summer while OU dropped to No. 2. Washington finished at No. 3 followed by Alabama and Arizona at No. 4 and No. 5.

Oklahoma State, Florida and Minnesota round out the top eight followed by Texas and LSU and No. 9 and No. 10.

No. 11 through No. 16 were all Super Regional teams with Florida State sliding down to No. 13 after losing to Oklahoma State.

The SEC continues to lead all conferences with nine teams in the Top 25 followed by the Big 12, Big Ten and Pac-12 with four. The ACC has two while the Sun Belt and Colonial each have one.

    Notes:

    2019 Record: 56-6

    The Skinny: A Regional loss to Missouri, sparked a fire that led UCLA to its 12th NCAA title. The Bruins swept JMU in the Super Regional and went undefeated at the WCWS ending with back-to-back wins over Oklahoma in a best-of-three series.

    2019 Record: 57-6

    The Skinny: The Sooners saw their NCAA-record winning streak fall at the hands Wisconsin in the Norman Regional but they rebounded to advance and sweep their Super. OU took the hard route to the WCWS finals where they fell to UCLA in two games.

    Notes:

    2019 Record: 52-9

    The Skinny: Washington handled business in the Seattle Regional and Super Regional and fell to two Pac-12 teams in the WCWS. The Huskies' season ended in a 3-0, extra-inning thriller to UCLA.

    2019 Record: 60-10

    The Skinny: The Crimson Tide sought revenge after losing the SEC Tournament to Florida and found it in the biggest way. Alabama crushed the Gators in the WCWS and made it to the final four where they eventually fell to Oklahoma.

    2019 Record: 48-14

    The Skinny: The Wildcats swept the Tucson Regional and Super Regional en route to their first WCWS appearance in nine years. Arizona dropped into the loser's bracket after a loss to UCLA and was eliminated by Alabama.

    2019 Record: 45-17

    The Skinny: Oklahoma State won over the heart of America as the Cowgirls upset Florida State in Supers and made a splash in the WCWS. Their unconventional swagger will hopefully lead them back in 2020.

    2019 Record: 49-18

    The Skinny: The Gators went on a tear after winning the SEC Tournament. Florida won its Regional and then walked-off on Tennessee in Supers to reach Oklahoma City. Florida was eliminated by Alabama in its worst WCWS loss in program history.

    Record: 46-14

    The Skinny: The Gophers were the first team eliminated from the WCWS but they made history with their first appearance in program history.

    The Skinny: The Longhorns fought their way out of the loser's bracket of the Austin Regional and took Alabama to the very end in Supers before falling in the final game of the series.

    2019 Record: 43-19

    The Skinny: The Tigers won the Baton Rouge Regional but fell to Minnesota in Super Regionals.

    The Skinny: The Rebels came from behind against Louisiana in the Oxford Regional before getting swept by Arizona in the Tucson Super Regional.

    2019 Record: 43-17

    The Skinny: The Lady Vols dropped a game to UNC in the Knoxville Regional before moving on to the Gainesville Super. Tennessee eventually fell to Florida in three games to end its season one win shy of the WCWS.

    2019 Record: 55-10

    The Skinny: The Seminoles entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 5 overall seed and were ousted at home in Super Regionals against No. 13 Oklahoma State in three games.

    2019 Record: 36-24

    The Skinny: Kentucky made quick work of the Lexington Regional but struggled in Seattle for the Super Regional at Washington. The Wildcats dropped two games to the Huskies and failed to reach the WCWS.

    2019 Record: 51-10

    The Skinny: JMU was on the bubble for hosting but landed as a two-seed in Ann Arbor. The Dukes fought back to beat Michigan in the Regional final but fell to UCLA in the Los Angeles Super.

    Record: 47-13

    The Skinny: Northwestern dropped its winner's bracket contest to Louisville in the Evanston Regional before taking the next two and getting swept in Norman.

    Notes:

    2019 Record: 52-6

    The Skinny: Louisiana struggled down the stretch and it didn't get easier in the NCAA Tournament. The Ragin' Cajuns fell in back-to-back games to Ole Miss and saw their season end at Regionals. Since then, they've picked up some key transfers to ensure that doesn't happen again.

    2019 Record: 45-13

    The Skinny: The Wolverines were awarded a Regional host with the No. 15 seed but were upended by James Madison in the finals when the Dukes won back-to-back games to eliminate Michigan from the postseason.

    Record: 43-14

    The Skinny: The Badgers upset Oklahoma in the Normal Regional 2-0 and then dropped the winner-take-all game 2-0 and committed two errors.

    The Skinny: Texas Tech pushed LSU to the brink in the Baton Rouge Regional but the Tigers' pitching had the extra arm to push them through to Supers.

    2019 Record: 42-19

    The Skinny: The Bulldogs picked it up late in the season and landed in the toughest Regional, Minneapolis. UGA finished runner-up to eventual WCWS participant and host, Minnesota in the Regional final.

    2019 Record: 47-11

    The Skinny: The Hokies were the No. 2 seed in Lexington and couldn't overcome Kentucky in the winner's bracket or finals.

    2019 Record: 39-21

    The Skinny: Auburn landed in the Tucson Regional and gave Arizona all it had until the Wildcats proved to be too much for the Tigers. Auburn will look to add depth throughout the roster for 2020.

    2019 Record: 38-19

    The Skinny: The Gamecocks were eliminated in the finals of the Tallahassee Regional against No. 5 Florida State. South Carolina finished the season with the highest batting average in the SEC and will look to continue that next season.

    2019 Record: 35-20

    The Skinny: The Sun Devils traveled to Tuscaloosa as the two-seed for Regionals and led Alabama 5-0 at one point before dropping the contest and ending their season at the Regional.
